Q: Someone is sending spam using my e-mail address. What can I do?
A: This is a common spam tactic called e-mail spoofing. Spammers are either randomly generating e-mail addresses with your domain extension or gathering your e-mail addresses from your site or other sources and then sending spam from the addresses. This has nothing to do with our servers.
There are several ways to counter spoofing. One approach is to not place your e-mail addresses on your website and to be careful who you share them with. You can use this program to encrypt your e-mail address: http://rumkin.com/tools/mailto_encoder/ Contact forms are a good alternative that will keep your e-mail address secure. Another approach is setting up the Sender Policy Framework (SPF) which you can read about here: http://www.openspf.org/
